ARAUCÁRIA Saneamento S.A.
Headquartered in Campos do Jordão (SP), the company is responsible for implementing the collection, removal and treatment of the citiy’s sewage system. With a capacity of 230l / s, it aims to serve a population of 80,000. The treatment plant has capacity to serve the high season, when the visitor population increases to 300,000.
The investments of R$ 115 million provided ultrafiltration membranes, a technology used for the first time in Brazil for the treatment of domestic sewage. As it is predominantly a tourism place, the city requires, with absolute priority, the permanent preservation of the environment. Thus the treatment project was designed not to have any negative impact on its surrounding areas. The station has noise control and an odor elimination gas treatment system, in addition to producing an effluent with reused water characteristics.
